cute casual summer dresses
Looking to find some cute casual summer dresses? Wondering what the latest summer trends are? Here I’ll give my top summer fashion trends for 2010.
Bold prints are in, baby. Bright colored floral prints, ethnic tribe designs, animal print, they’re all super popular right now. If you want to wear a bold patterned print, I recommend a small strapped, v-neck dress or a cute wrap around maxi, which totally fits in with the flowy summer vibe. Don’t add too many accessories also, as they will overwhelm bold prints easily. Keep it simple with maybe a bohemian necklace, like Vanessa Hudgens likes to wear, some cute strappy sandals or some wooden bangles.
Longer, sleeker lines
It’s no longer cute to wear dresses up to there. Long, sexy lines are key now. Empire waists, long flowing fabric, those are definitely in tune with this years cute casual summer dresses. For a daytime, flirty, casual look stick with dresses at knee length or longer, ladies. It may sound old school, but those super cute, bright color bohemian dresses are totally in, and the more flow, the better. Plus it gives you an excuse not to shave your legs.
If you’re more of a night owl, then a sexy, bright colored cami dress is perfect. I personally love Erotokritos cami dress, with it’s mix of pink and black, and just a hint of silver, it definitely says “time to party!”
Off the shoulder
Like those gorgeous peasant blouses, dresses that have one, or both straps off the shoulder are absolutely fabulous. Simple, light colors are key. I love off the shoulder tee dresses, you can wear them anywhere! And they’re perfect for pairing with cute accessories and bulky purses. Remember, keep it simple!
Now that you know what to look for, the next question is, where to find it?
My personal picks are places like Forever21, Blooms, Charlotte Russe, etc. They’re all super affordable.
Windors is my next favorite, because although they do have a selection of rather expensive dresses, if you look in the sale sections they have really cute cheap ones. I bought a tube dress there for only $20, it’s gorgeous!
Department stores and vintage thrift shops also have nice selections, especially for the bohemian, 70s/80s dresses, since they have such a wide variety of styles and prices.
American Eagle, Pacsun .. those are typically more expensive, but they always have a nice beachy style.
Most importantly when shopping for cute casual summer dresses, is to have fun!
Enjoy Summer
xoxo
